RAOC Laundry

Hi ,I  just want to  introduce myself :   Stan Trout     Ex  RAOC Laundry Unit on the Island 57/58.  I haven't seen anyone who was in the Unit. I notice that there has been a lot of input about their Flight out to the Island,  Ours was from Blackbush Airport - to New York - stop over - Hawai - Christmas Island.  Some haul !!!    I find it a bit difficult getting around the site so please bare with me.  .Regards  Stan.

Hi Stan.

Great to see you have joined the family in more ways than one.  I have had my name interpret in many ways of Fish.  Putting that to one side Welcome to the site and you will as you find your way around the site it very interesting.  I find it facilitating as I go  onto members Wall of their experiences in pictures of their time on Christmas Island.  We all have our own feelings of the time and of looking back of a unique experience of life.

What Airline did you fly out with and aircraft did you fly in, out to Christmas Island ?  I flew out from Blackbushe Airport, by Cunard, Eagle Airways, in a D.C. 6c.

Your unit done a grand job, though we were on the island at a different time.  Keeping bedding a clothing clean.

Just to help you ?  Just hover  your mouse pointer over the word and if it turns red then it will take you to where you want to go.

Regards to you and look forward to seeing Antidotes and pictures of your  Experience.

Hi Paul and Dennis,

Behind me the television is on and the BAFTA Awards are on and a moment ago the programme acknowledged the people who have died in the last year.  Alan Whicker was one of the BBC presenter.  I remember him as Presenter and interviewer of Whicker's World.   Is there any one on the site who was interviewed.  I do remember one of his programmes that he done from Hawaii and some of the fellows were on leave from Christmas Island and were enjoying their selves in Honolulu.
